چکیده

Using CGS4 on UKIRT, we have obtained a 1.95-2.45 μm infrared spectrum of the primary candidate counterpart to the bright Z LMXB GX5-1. IR photometry by Naylor, Charles, & Longmore (1992) and the astrometry of Jonker et al. (2000) had previously identified this star as the most likely counterpart to GX5-1. The spectrum presented here clearly shows Brackett γ and He lines in emission, for the first time confirming the identity of the counterpart. Similar to our previous spectroscopy of the Z source LMXBs Sco X-1 and Sco X-2 (Bandyopadhyay et al. 1999), the K-band spectrum of GX5-1 shows emission lines only. We briefly discuss the implications of this spectrum for the nature of the Z sources.

IR and UV Spectroscopic Analysis of C20 Carbon Nanostructures

Infrared (IR) and ultraviolet (UV) spectroscopic analysis of eight structural isomers of C20 carbon nanostructures, i.e. ring, tadpole, bow-tie, dumb-bell, spiro, propellane, bowl and cage, were performed at different levels of theory including semi-empirical (AM1 and PM3), Hartree-Fock (HF/6-31++G, 6-31++G**) and density functional theory (B3LYP/6-31++G, 6-31++G**). A broad range of IR spectra...

Nutritional Value, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopic Molecular Structures, Mycotoxines and Heavy Metals Concentration of Un-Ripe, Ripe and Sun-Dried Fruit from ‘Sultana’ Grapevine for Ruminants

Grapes and grape-derived products have worldwide importance due to its consumption by human, however, they may also be used for ruminant feeding when their price or quality is low. The objectives of current study were to determine the nutritive value, in terms of chemical composition, in vitro rumen gas production kinetics and predicted nutrient supply, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopic ...

Infrared identification of IGR J09026−4812 as a Seyfert 1 galaxy

Context. IGR J09026−4812 was discovered by INTEGRAL in 2006 as a new hard X-ray source. Thereafter, an observation with Chandra pinpointed a single X-ray source within the ISGRI error circle, showing a hard spectrum, and improving its high-energy localisation to a subarcsecond accuracy. Thus, the X-ray source was associated to the infrared counterpart 2MASS J09023731−4813339 whose JHKS photomet...

A broadband spectroscopic search for CO line emission in HDF850.1: the brightest submillimetre object in the Hubble Deep Field North

Using the 100-m Green Bank Telescope, we have conducted a cm-wavelength search for CO J=1-0 line emission towards the high-redshift, far-infrared luminous object, HDF850.1 over the redshift interval 3.3 ∼ z ∼ 5.4. Despite the wealth of existing multi-wavelength observations, and the recent identification of a galaxy counterpart in deep K ′ band (2.2 μm) imaging, an unambiguous spectroscopic red...

Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopic Comparison of Normal and Malignant Cervical Tissue Cervical Tissue.

Based on the accumulated data, FTIR spectroscopy seems to be a highly sensitive tool in cervical cancer diagnosis. We, therefore, employed this technique in a screening type of research here in Tehran. The purpose of this study was to look for the spectral pattern differences between normal and malignant cervix samples in Iranian women. Through formal and informal announcements, all gynecology ...
